Āhāra

Food is medicine

A Seasonal Ayurvedic Experience of Intentional Nourishment

About Āhāra

In Ayurveda, Āhāra means nourishment. It invites us to look beyond food alone and recognize that nourishment comes through our relationship with what we take in, how we prepare, how we receive, and how we connect with the world around us.

Moving with the rhythms of nature, we are reminded that we are not separate from it. We are part of it. Ayurveda invites us to observe these seasonal changes and bring awareness to how we nourish ourselves throughout the year.

Join us for a gentle seasonal Ayurvedic experience offered through Cancer Bridges, exploring the connection between food, awareness, nature, and well-being.

We will begin with gentle movement and breath to settle the body and mind, creating space to arrive and be present.

Ayurveda teaches that nourishment begins before the first bite. The care, attention, and intention we bring while preparing food become part of the experience of a meal.

Experience the art of mindful cooking through an Ayurvedic lens, a practice of slowing down, honoring our ingredients, and reconnecting with what sustains us.

Together, we will explore foundational principles of Ayurveda, including Agni (the digestive fire), seasonal eating, and the role of herbs, spices, and the six tastes in supporting balance.

The aroma of intentional spices can awaken the senses, bring comfort, evoke memory, and deepen our connection with the food we prepare.

Ayurveda reminds us that food can become medicine when approached with awareness, from preparation to the moment it nourishes us.

We will prepare a simple seasonal meal together, share it in community, and close with a guided relaxation to integrate the experience.

This workshop is an invitation to rediscover food as a daily practice of care and presence.

This workshop will be guided by Shikha Pasrija, C-IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist & Educator, Reiki Master, and Dharma Mentor.

Founder of Sampurna Yoga, Shikha offers integrative yoga therapy and holistic wellness practices supporting health, healing, and peace. This workshop is offered not only from knowledge, but from lived experience, as Shikha shares practices that have personally supported her own path toward balance and healing.
No cooking experience is needed. Come as you are, ready to nourish yourself.
