About the Retreat

MaitrÄ« is an invitation to return to a simple yet often forgotten relationship: the one we have with ourselves. It is a practice of befriending ourselves with kindness, compassion, and care, and of coming home to who we truly are.

This retreat offers three days devoted to practicing exactly that.

What's waiting for you

Sunrise Qigong, Dao Yin, and healing sound meditation, clearing stuck, stale energy and welcoming in fresh, grounding energy with the new day

Meet yoga as a soulful energy medicine and Ayur-Yoga, a path to self-study and awareness that moves through the subtle body, honoring yourself and your unique constitution

Kriyas and Kundalini-inspired movement and breath, awakening the energy

• Meditation and mindfulness: invitations to simply arrive, and meet yourself with kindness

Tree meditations: quiet, grounded practice among the trees

Learn to cook simple, organic Ayurvedic meals together; recipes provided to take home

• Fire ritual under the open Full Moon sky - a sacred evening of releasing and renewing, warm salt foot soaks, guided meditation, and a heart-opening singing circle.

Soulful rest, with time for journaling and quiet reflection

The Rhythm

Retreat will start at 6pm on Friday evening and conclude Sunday after lunch.

Friday: Gentle arrival, registration, and settling in. We gather to meet one another, followed by a grounding practice. Dinner, then a bonfire and salt foot soak under the stars with an energy-clearing practice.

Saturday: Full days held by practice, rest, and each other: Qigong at sunrise, energy-clearing yoga and kriyas, meditation morning and evening, meals prepped and cooked together, unhurried nature time and rest in between to pause and reflect.

Sunday: Sunrise practice, closing circle, lunch together, then home.

Lodging

We will be staying together in a cozy cabin graciously hosted by Hawley’s Cabin and Studio. Shared rooms are in the loft and lower level, and two private queen rooms are available on the main floor. Bathrooms are shared.
